New E-line Mechanical High Expandable Shifting Key with High Expandable Stoker Anchor

Abstrak

Back in 2014, Well XY was completed to access Zone-8, Zone-7, Zone-5, Zone-4 and Zone-4A. The completion was designed segmented/isolated for each individual formation. A Sliding Sleeve Door (SSD) installed in each segment to access the formation. At Initial production, the well was producing only from Zone-8 and Zone-7 from opened SSDs. Zone-5, Zone-4 and Zone-4A SSDs were still in closed position. The purpose is to avoid cross flowing since Zone-8 and Zone-7 are having higher reservoir pressure (+2,000 psi) than Zone-5 and Zone-4 (+1,400 psi). Well monitoring and modeling was done when the well was producing 8.6 MMSCFD, which resulted in estimated pressure around 1,300 psi. It was recommended to open the SSDs on Zone-5/Zone-4 and produce comingle with Zone-8 and Zone-7 to increase production. The cross flow was no longer be an issue.

Due to the standard mechanical shifting tool could not pass through the ID tubing on upper completion, Welltec then came providing a SSD manipulation solution by utilizing special shifting tool. This job is another SSD manipulation solution provided after the first attempt was not met the objective. A 318 (OD of 3-1/8") sized toolstring could not reach the SSD depth due to the additional hole restriction above the SSD after the well production. Now, Welltec utilized special set up and slimmer tool. A 218 (OD of 2-1/8") well tractor was deployed and combined with special high expandable 218 well stroker anchor section. Also, standard 218 well key was modified and combined with 3" High Expandable Shifting Key.
