Abstract

From time to time, data management has become one of major issues in oil and gas industry. The data that kept by certain individuals, teams, or unmanaged storages consumes more time to locate and further inhibit to perform analysis. A new system is presented to solve the issue of these scattered data.   The system comprises of 4 layers, i.e. database server, application services, end user interface, and data submission interface with business process implemented. Database server is used as the main storage of all available data, while the application services bridge user application and data submission interface to the database server. This system is thoroughly developed by using Python programming language. This open source platform makes the system very customizable and certainly low cost.   Besides the application development, another enormous part of this system is data gathering process. This paper explains the effort to collect, manage and integrate the production data management system in the company. Scattered data were gathered covering all subsurface data such as subsurface map, log data, well history, well sketch, PVT analysis, core, well section, and etc. Those data were then stored as table in the database server. Data that could not be stored as table such as well reports, well AFE, GGR study, and etc. are treated as e-File.   Henceforth, this system has been used as a one-door-system data library where all activities pertaining to engineering data are effectuated. It has helped users to find the data quicker than before. Now, users can efficiently allocate their time to focus more on the main job such as QA-QC data, troubleshooting related to well, analysis and study to create more opportunities.
