Abstract

Coal Bed Methane (CBM) activity has begins at 2004, and the working area has proposed by Government at 2008. Now there are 52 Working Area of CBM in Indonesia, and there is one working area in South Sumatra that begins the development stage of the field. That is Bravo Field for Area A and Area B with recoverable reserves around 127.93 BSCF and 209 wells. It is expected that the production comes on stream in 2020 with production rate of 7.74 MMSCFD for 16 years.

Economic calculation with standard Production Sharing Contract for CBM shows that the field is not economic to developed, needs some scenario evaluation to meet the positive economic of the project. The evaluation are sunk cost sensitivity, gas price sensitivity, Terms of Production Sharing Contract sensitivity (no cap cost recovery and shorten the depreciation period) and well cost optimation scenario.

At the end, well cost optimation scenario is the optimum scenario to increase the economic parameter. The evaluation well cost optimation are Rig Rate Optimation Parameter, Casing Design Cost Optimation Parameter and Optimation cost for well pad construction parameter. The economic parameter meets the positive economic to develop the field for contractor dan government.
