Simple Act Big Effect: Daily SN Field Welltest Modification

Abstract

Lematang Block gas production is produced from SN field and currently supported only from SN-01 and SN-03 wells. Therefore good quality data for those wells is significant for this block operation.
Before modification, fluid flow from SN-01 and SN-03 were mixed at production separator and test separator. Therefore daily individual welltest couldn't be done. Daily gas welltest data for those wells was taken from orifice meter in manifold which still contain gas and liquid. It leaded to inaccuracy data since orifice meter is unable to measure multiphase flow. In another hand, liquid productions of those wells were not recorded due to mixed flow in production separator and test separator. Those inaccurate gas rate data and unrecorded liquid production had severe effect on well allocation, well decline rate prediction, field forecast, reservoir management and simulation and eventually Lematang Block operation.
Modification was conducted by switching fluid flow in manifold so fluid flow from SN-01 and SN-03 can be separated. SN-01 flow to test separator while SN-03 to production separator. By this switching, gas and liquid rate can be measured individually for each well and the data are obtained accurately.
