Core Analysis and Wellbore Completion Planning for handling the Sand Problem in the wellbores at Rantau Field

Abstract

The Rantau Field is one of the oil-producing-field in Pertamina EP which has been in mature stage. The problem faced today is the high Low & Off of well production due to the issue off wellbore sand problems in several layers especially the Zone-400, Zone-560, and Zone-600. Some methods, which are deal with this problem, are available in the market. Those methods are mechanical, chemical, and a combination of both. This research is done for knowing what the accurate methods to overcome the problem in the wellbore at this field. It consists of several test including the core data test, formation fluid test, and finally Sand Retention Test (SRT). This Sand Retention Test was delivered to know the best scenario for handling the sand problem in the Zone-400, Zone-560, and Zone-600.
